Megan Mcmaster - Adventure program Manager
Megan was born and raised in rural south-central Pennsylvania about 15 minutes away from Gettysburg. After graduating from Messiah College in 2014, she interned with Ligonier Camp & Conference Center in western PA, where she fell in love with camp ministry. Prior to arriving at Camp Hebron in June 2017, she served with an inner city ministry in Wilmington, Delaware—running an outdoor experiential education program. Megan has a passion for seeing God transform lives when people are called out of their comfort zones. In her free time, you may find her backpacking, cooking a meal with friends, or reading in her hammock.
dean berger - barn manager
Dean has been leading the horsemanship program at Camp Hebron since summer of '98. While his wife Susan is the horse expert in the family, Dean's focus on ministry, financials, part-time and volunteer staff coordination, facilities maintenance, herd maintenance and the scheduling and operation of a trail riding program has kept him quite busy over the years.
A graduate of Liberty University in Christian camping ministries, Dean brings a heart of service and a commitment to serve the Lord. A father of 2 young men, Dean enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and a wide variety of sports. His greatest passion is to be a blessing to the guests of Camp and praise God for the work of His hands.
susan berger- horsemanship specialist
Susan is originally from Altoona, PA, and grew up in a family of 4 girls. She has enjoyed a wide range of employment and ministry opportunities including office work, travel agent, and barn manager / trainer at local show barns in Pennsylvania and Virginia. She has been involved at Camp Hebron for the past 20 years beginning as a volunteer before working part time and eventually full time in the Horsemanship Program. Her greatest joy comes from working with children, youth, and adults in educational programs that allow her the ability to share her heart for horses and how they help us connect in a unique and special way.
In her free time, Susan enjoys hanging out with her two boys and watching them in their various sports; walking, campfires, and hanging out and trail riding with her friends.
